Fabio Giampietro was born in Milan in 1974 where he is still living and working. He graduated from the Brera Fine Arts Academy, specialising in painting and theatre set design.

Fabio Giampietro paints and dreams an intangible world. One that can only be imagined. He seems to be asking us to ponder the whys of things. His colours and painting technique evoke representative symbolism. He uses matter, and to create a greater glow, greater contrast and to put forms in relief, he does not add white, but removes pigment from the canvas.

The dull colours symbolically reflect the memory of experience, of emotions and sentiments.

The carousel in his work Luna Park immerses you into a fantasy world where children conjure experiences of marvel which in adults spark doubts.

In the works called “Vertigo”,  reality is overturned using very tall buildings whose perspective emphasizes a sense of vertigo.

He is inspired to a vision of post–atomic cities, to tales like Gotham City in Batman and Robin…
