Brunella Rossi

Brunella Rossi was born in Genova. She has been living and working in Milan since 1991.

After using the traditional pictorial techniques for years, she developed a personal piece of research, focused on the use of sands coming from all over the world as base of the pictorial element. With the use of this particular material, the expressive form, already containing elements of astrattism, has found a remarkable formal freedom space, for what concern stylistic news and also for the plasticity that the cloth can assume exceeding his original bidimensionale matrix.

As the critic of art Ruggero Valentini says:
" even if apparently informal, her works are, mostly, the materialization of dreamt realities". Real, but forgotten visions, of spaces recreate without time appearing from ancestral memories, recalled from the depth through the physical contact with the matter. " an alive and active substance, that enters in symbiotic relation with the artist, creeps in his mind, satisfies (pleases) his spirit, governs his heart and guides his hand ". She keeps personal and collective shows in several towns of Italy and obtains important recognitions like the first prize, in 2005, at the selection in Piacenza, for the international biennal of modern and contemporary art in Rome 2006.
